Hey there fellow animal lover! 👋🏼 We are Wildlife Rescue of Charlotte (WRoC) 🎸🥁, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization licensed by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. We rescue sick, injured and/or orphaned wildlife from the Charlotte area and rehabilitate them with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. Sometimes we call ourselves WeRoC with the “e” standing for “exotic” because we also rescue & re-home discarded exotic pets and the occasional farm animal.
We took in 292 animals in 2023 and in 2022 over 400 animals were brought into our care.
State licensed wildlife rehabilitators do not receive any funding from the State or government (the nerve!) and therefore rely solely on donations. These much needed donations allow us to purchase essential species specific formulas for orphans, food, fresh produce, enclosures, medicine & medical supplies, veterinary treatment and more.
